Smart Liens Has Launched A New Update To Improve Our Service!
Digital Lien Sale Copies
A digital copy of Lien Sale packets will now be made available to all Lienholders via links through the SMART LIENS COMMENTS section in your Past Orders.
Digital Copies will be made available the following Monday after submission, if not sooner.
Each Link is unique and will contain the Mail Log and Posting Sheets for that Order.
Digital Copies cannot be printed with Possible Salvage stamps, but you can find whether a vehicle is Salvaged/Junked or not in the DMV record each lien packet has on Page 3 after blank page 2.
Blank pages are there so that you can print packets double-sided. If you cannot print double-sided, discard/recycle blank pages.
Only Lien Packets for 2025 and future years will be made available.
Smart Liens will no longer be available to answer any clearing date questions for Liens completed year 2025 and up since they will be made available to you through the site.
Reprints will only be charged for Liens before 2025. You must access your own for 2025 moving forward, unless you would like a printed copy, in which case it will be charged.
Digital Copies will only be made available to you if your account has no outstanding balance with Smart Liens.
Each Copy Will Be Available For Viewing and Download.
We hope this new update facilitates your experience with Smart Liens. Thank you for being the best! (:
LIENS OVER $4,000
Liens Over $4,000 can now be canceled through the site where the Request Reprint button used to be.
Liens Over $4,000 are done in two parts. When you cancel a Lien Over $4,000, the first part has already been completed and charged, therefore you are canceling as a courtesy notice to Smart Liens.
The DMV will still contact you to ask whether any vehicle Liened Over $4,000 is still in your possession or not. If it is in your possession, please state so correctly. If you accidentally state it is no longer in your possession, the DMV will never send a letter of approval, and the Lien will have to be redone. There will be another 90-120 day waiting period if so.
The second part to all Liens Over $4,000 can only be completed after the DMV has made contact with you, the Lienholder, to verify the vehicle is still in your possession. If you do not answer when DMV calls or return their call when they leave a voicemail, they will never send a letter of approval. Smart Liens cannot make the call for you, as the DMV does not allow us to state whether a vehicle is in your possession or not.
